DESCRIPTION
Fashionable and cute, these spacious zippered bags in two sizes will hold a variety of items or your favorite mini or regular-sized household iron.
Each features a zippered pocket on front and a mesh divider and fabric slip pocket inside. Rings attached to the handle may be used to attach a separate strap. (Check out ByAnnie's free Carrying Strap and Pad course to make a separate, detachable strap.)
An easy-to-make Cord Wrap handily contains cords and can be made with leftover fabrics and interfacing from the project.
The pattern includes complete step-by-step instructions for purses/iron carriers in two sizes:
SMALL: 7""H x 10¼""W x 5½""D (sized to carry popular mini irons)
LARGE: 9½""H x 13¼""W x 7""D (sized to carry most regular-sized irons)
CLASS INFO:
Hot & Heavy makes a great class for confident beginners to advanced makers. We'd suggest TWO four-hour classes for students to make either the small or the large bag.
The pattern includes instructions for cases in two sizes. The process is the same for each size, so students can choose a size that will best fit their needs.
As always, we'd ask students to read the pattern and watch the full step-by-step Add-on Video for this project before coming to class.
To make best use of class time, we also recommend that they come to class with everything cut out for the size bag that they are making. So, they should complete all of step I. CUT AND QUILT on pages 2 and 3 of the pattern BEFORE coming to class.
We would suggest completing these steps in each class:
Class 1:
Complete steps II. Prepare Components.
Complete step III. Prepare Pockets.
Show demos for each step so that students can understand concepts and finish any incomplete steps as homework before the next class.
Class 2:
Complete step IV. Assemble the Bag.
As time allows, demonstrate steps for the Cord Wrap for students to complete on their own.
