DESCRIPTION
‘Islas Secret Garden’ quilt uses appliqué and pieced blocks to create a beautiful mix of flowers onto a pieced background. This pattern is perfect for all types of appliqué methods, machine, raw edge and needle turn. This pattern has the instructions for all three including the quick modern ‘faux’ appliqué method using interfacing to secure the appliqué pieces and then sewn into place by machine. This quilt is a perfect use of scraps or your stash of favourite fat quarters. The quilt has instructions for a Large Lap quilt. Sewing the appliqué onto the smaller background blocks prior to piecing makes it a lot easier to sew the flowers down.The pieced background is made up of three blocks: four corners, four joining and one centre block. There are full coloured instructions and diagrams to tell you where to place each fabric, so there is no guess work, which makes it a breeze to put together. The pattern includes printed templates and instructions on how to make you own templates or you can purchase acrylic templates for this pattern.
